Swing away

Hi Casey, this is Max . Just wanted to say that it’s ok that you struck out. I know everyone was acting disappointed right when it happened, and you may have felt like you were the one who blew the entire game just because you happened to be the last strike out. I know your strike out marked the end of the season, and the point of no return for us fans. Still, don’t be so hard on yourself. Remember, baseball is a team sport, and you were one of the main reasons we even got into the play offs in the first place.

We have to celebrate our successes together, and learn to help each other through our losses. Remember, nobody is perfect . That’s the way God made us, and why we are called human. Also it’s not all your fault that the team lost. Everyone had a part in the final score, and you were not the only one who struck out.

We all had high hopes for the season, and I wanted the championship more than anyone. I will admit, when you were up to bat I was so excited. Thought we had it in the bag for a win. But then I knew when you missed the seconded pitch that we needed to hit the ball or the game would be over and the season would be over. So when you swung that bat for that last time of the night I thought you would hit the ball and it would go soaring. I was shocked at first, but then I came down to reality.

I learned a lot from you and the team this year. I really enjoyed watching you all play.
